Rapid and SC Herzenburg have one thing in common: the year they were founded in 1899. So two birthday children met on Friday in a funny situation. A crowd of 1,500 packed Stiftstadt-Kikker’s home to see how the neo-regional league side fares against the fourth-placed team in the Bundesliga. In Vienna’s 11-0 win, the scoring turbo never really got going after the break.
It was the first test run for the green-whites after training began on Monday. Hütteldorfer’s starting eleven: new acquisition Serge-Philippe Yao-Raux and Vienna returnee Noah Bischof.
Ziselsberger is a hot shot
Benjamin Bockle, former admiral Jakob Schoeller and currently injured Germany returnee Louis Schaap are missing from the visitors’ side. Herzogenburg started with great enthusiasm, but – congratulations Euros – made it 0-1 with an own goal (9th). After 100 seconds, Noah Biskop extended the visitors’ lead. “Now it really starts,” said a laptop on board. Samuel Giselsberger really had a very hot shot in the SCH box and made several good saves. The deficit at half-time was narrow (0:4).
The green and white jokers looked amused
But in humid temperatures, experts naturally had more tolerance. There was heated discussion on both sides. Regional League shooting king Tobias Hedl immediately scored a brace. 19-year-old Furqan Tursan scored two goals. The scoreboard flashed 11-0 for the Bundesliga club until the end – but above all an unforgettable competitive history for the team of Reinhard Dietl and Kurt Kieler.
Unforgettable for the young (and not so young) autograph hunters who finally managed to get a selfie or an autograph from their favorite…
Unforgettable for the refereeing trio: Robert Radaev, who once played for Herzogenburg’s youth team, was now allowed to referee his parent club’s match against Rapid – assisted by two “old hands” of the Lower Austria refereeing team, Martin Falketshofer and Franz. Steakburger.
SC Everyday Heroes Herzenburg – SK Rapid Vienna 0:11 (0:4).- Goals: D. Hedl 2, Durson 2, Bischoff, Long, Zivkovic, Hoffmann, Gueye, Pajlics.
